This is where the cross, the resurrection, your personal beliefs, and Jesus collide. Jesus Christ has to be ALL of these to you or He is none of them for you!

Before His death, only the High Priest could intercede on your behalf to God; by making a sacrifice for your sin behind a thick veil, inside the Holy of Holies, and only one day a year. But as Jesus suffered and died upon the cross, something spectacular happened. Death couldn’t keep Him! Because He never sinned, and the veil was torn in two (Matthew 27:50-52)! So, He arose from death to life becoming the final sin offering you’ll ever need (Romans 6:23)(2 Corinthians 5:21)! What makes this day special is that through Jesus, sin has been defeated, death has been defeated, and Satan has been defeated! His resurrection proves it!

Many refuse to see the connection between sin and death to the point where they can’t fathom why God would allow “bad things to happen to good people”! First of all, the Bible says there are no good people, “There is none righteous, no not one!” Whether we realize or accept it, we’ve all messed up in our lives, broken God’s commandments (sinned), and as a result of sin there will be times of disease and sickness in your life because you need a healer! There will be moments when you feel like you’re wandering around hopelessly lost in the hot, dry desert because you need Living Water! At times, your faith will falter because you need the Finisher of Faith! Life will seem like a battle on every front because you need the Prince of Peace! You’ll be pressed on every side, perplexed, persecuted, knocked down because you need the Comforter and Mighty One! It’s been said that sometimes Jesus allows hearts to be broken in order to save them! I don’t know what your experience has been or will be, but I do know one day, you’ll stand before a Holy and righteous God to give an account of your life, and you’re going to need “The Way”, “The Truth”,  “The Life.” You’ll need the Rock of Salvation and the Redeemer, Christ Jesus, to SAVE you! This is why the resurrection matters to every single man, woman, and child, and to YOU! Some will say, “I don’t need Jesus. I believe in ____ . That’s all I need (John 14:6)!” Some say, “I’ve never done anything that bad. God won’t condemn me (Romans 3:23)!” Many will claim, “But I’m religious. My rituals and righteous works will save me (Matthew 7:21-23, Galatians 5:24-25)!” That’s what we celebrate and why it matters. A living relationship; not a dead religion! If you have some sin holding you captive or if you’ve been worshiping little g’s and following in the wrong religion, I invite you to be set free by the resurrection! To crucify your old sin nature, your old beliefs, and your old “Religion,” and be resurrected to new life through a relationship with Jesus as your Risen Lord and Savior!

Lesson4Life: The resurrection proves just how much Jesus loves you!
